After the release of their masterpiece "LIVE iN ISRAEAL" in August 2018, the Blues Brothters felt they'd reached the height of their artistic powers. An album that combined old and new material with the transcendent energy of live performance seemed like a fitting final statement in music. The Brothters spent the bulk of the following year exploring other interests, including various humanitarian efforts and multiple groundbreaking artistic endeavours. After a while, it really did seem as though it was indeed time to put The Blues Brothters project behind them and forge new paths in life.

However, in the fall of 2019 something peculiar happened. The Brothters separately but simultaneously reignited their dormant passion for what they call 'The Plight of the Animal'. While numerous other concepts for Blues Brothters albums were discussed and even worked upon, Sam and Yuri simply couldn't resist the beckoning call of the Animal Planet. The original "aANIMAL'PLANET" album, which was released in 2017, has been a fan favourite ever since. To this day it remains an immeasurably bold artistic statement, and its power and relevance has only increased in the years since.

Having a soft spot in their own hearts for this album and for the planet Earth at large, the Brothters felt it was only right to immerse themselves once more in life on the Animal Planet... And immerse themselves they did. Animal Planet 2 is a stunning tapestry of rhythms, melodies, and kaleidoscopic sonic textures which all fit together beautifully to create an astounding ode to the state of the world.

While this is not the first time the band have taken an intersectional approach to the themes of their albums, never before have they taken the concept of 'The animal' and so dextrously woven it into the spheres of 21st century politics, art and mainstream pop-culture. In this regard '‘ANIMAL🐵PLANET:🌍2”' stands on the shoulders of all previous releases by the Blues Brothters, seeing and saying more than ever before. Will you heed the call of the wild and once again surrender to the wise but unforgiving terrain of the 'Animal Planet'? The Blues Brothters extend their invitation, and they sincerely hope you accept.
